The Metro

Hi fellow Scratchers out there, it’s taken me a few days to consider my diary entry this time as I know the boys weren’t 100% happy with the other night, I was tryin to put myself in their shoes, confronted for the first time with the Garage Rock thang, being only half the story and new converts being a little stunned at how Garage Rock they are live, as opposed to on DIY. Live is LIVE and there’s still no-one I’ve seen on the circuit with the mad intensity and onstage energy of the Scratch, new single X-ray eyes could well see a shift however in emphasis, personally I believe the first year of the band was like a get out and get playin scenario and this year with new songs already creeping in to the repotoire we’ll see a more experimental approach. I have sympathy, it's hard for any band with such varied influences to build a following, if you can be pigeon holed it’s a lot
easier, which is why I reckon the boys have been cautious so far and on the back of ‘I relax to spiral scratch’ what else could they do but rock! anyone who didn’t get at least a semi on Wednesday when they played it must be a eunoch … or have their grandad in the band! … See u at the next one …
